Using a Stove Top Griddle for Cooking

Stove top griddle – The indoor grill for home use may be made of aluminum, stainless steel or cast iron. They can either use the stove or electricity to heat. Cooking on a baking sheet eliminates the need for skillets or pots, which you can cook food directly on the griddle surface. This makes a griddle a good choice for pancakes, steaks, hamburgers, bacon, eggs and other foods you typically fried in a pan.


Using a stove top griddle for cooking, spray the griddle surface with non-stick spray if you are cooking pancakes or eggs. For the majority of meat, the fat in the meat to be enough to keep the food from sticking. Place the baking sheet over a large stove burner and heat it over medium to medium-high heat. If your baking sheet covers two burners, set the high burner to medium and small burner to medium-high. This will help distribute the heat evenly over the two burners. Sprinkle a few drops of water on the griddle surface. If the water sizzles, griddle is ready for cooking.

Place the food on the baking sheet. Turn off the heat and remove the baking sheet from the burner after cooking is finished. Spray baking sheet with non-stick spray if you are cooking foods like eggs that can adhere to the surface. Connect baking sheet and preheat the surface to 177 degrees Celsius using the temperature knob. Cook food on the stove top griddle surface when the light goes off. Remove the baking sheet from the outlet when the food is cooked. Let the baking sheet to cool before cleaning.
